Noam Chomsky Response

It’s interesting to read about language from a more analytical standpoint of a linguist rather than from a designer.  He brought up a lot of aspects I had not thought about like an internal language.  Typically I would focus on how work would be presented and interpreted by other people before considering my own thought process.  I also liked how Chomsky talked about acronyms.  Nowawdays, acronyms are so commonplace, and yet I don’t consider them a prominent characteristic of language.  Chomsky is well educated and knows what he is talking about, and one of the things that grabbed my attention the most is the disappearance of languages in general.  I never thought about it, and it is truly sad that native languages are disappearing along with the cultures they carry.

I tried to incorporate movement with the word ‘zippy’ by writing it on noisemaker blowouts, but the low quality makes it difficult to see.
